Default Looking for part number

2014 XJL 3.0: I need to replace this part but can’t locate a part number. My preference would be to totally bypass the plastic piece altogether and run a solid hose to the recovery tank line. Any suggestions for my proposed alteration?

Need a part number

Can this be bypassed or reconstructed to omit the plastic section?

That part has been redesigned and it's a bit of a puzzle as the nipple is still there on the updated part but if you look it's blocked off internally and no hose is attached to it.
Have you replaced the water pump yet? I think when you do there is an updated hose or two that goes with it?
Attached is a poor copy of what Jaguar did when they updated those hoses. Note the difference between the old and new setup compared to your part.

Thanks for the illustrations. The plastic part is the newer version.
It appears that the gray plastic piece is basically designed to reduce the volume (and maybe pressure) of coolant flow to and from the expansion tank. If that’s the case I’m curious if eliminating the plastic piece altogether, replacing it with a straight hose, may in fact eliminate two places that are vulnerable to coolant leaks. Any comments on this?

Rock Auto has replacements available made by Gates:
2012 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER 5.0L V8 Coolant Hose / Pipe | RockAuto

More Information for GATES 51693 (rockauto.com)

$25, but it is the right part.
Jaguar part number listed in that description is AJ813565, which crosses to Land Rover part number LR045238

Thanks 12jagmark
Any comment on my shade tree mechanic idea of replacing with a one piece direct hose to the expansion “T” ? Thus, eliminating the modular plastic piece and connecting hose with Oring ?

Well, that may work; and something I would probably consider if I didn't prefer to keep the wife's Jag fitted as well as I consider it worthy of.
I do use some aftermarket parts, but especially on parts that rarely need to be replaced I prefer to keep it as much original as possible.
I try to get all the years & miles out of a vehicle that I can, and the Jaguar & Land Rover are generally worth the price of upkeep to me.

But I don't see why you couldn't rig-up a hose connection that would work just fine.

Any help on how to find the Land Rover part number if you have the Jaguar part number?

In this case, the Rock Auto description includes both part numbers. And when I look-up most parts, wherever I find them, if a part is used on both (and others when applicable) the source often shows alternate part numbers.
One side note - I find it odd that in cases such as this part Rock Auto includes it in the listed parts for one application (LR in this case) but not the other (Jaguar). Maybe because Jaguar changed the design to exclude it in later revisions(?)

Thanks 12jagmark
I ordered the part. Jaguar did in fact change the part by blocking the hole on the protruding extension. Hopefully, this part will have the blocked extension. If not, I'll modify and block it myself.
Best Regards.

I'm pretty sure this part is the dummy-Y with one branch plugged, the only way it ever came.
I don't know why the original design had this part that looks like it was changed, but I'm pretty sure that there is no earlier design that had a line going to the (now plugged) barb.
