Looking for a front passenger side speaker. Before I replace what kind, size and anything i need to know? 2011 XJL

 

You can pull it up by your VIN, try this dealer for example as it is where I ordered mine. There is a woofer and a mid range, so you need to pick which one you want. There is also a thread on removing the door panel (or door card) on this forum which I followed and posted about successfully changing my blown woofer.

In my 2012 XJ-L Portfolio, my left front subwoofer was blown ( lowest speaker in the door) and wound up replacing both front subwoofers with Pioneer TS-SW2002D2 8-inch Shallow-Mount Subwoofer -600 Watts Max Power. Yes, I had to do a small amount of modifying and had to run a jumper wire to make it a 4 ohm speaker ( they have dual 2 ohm voice coils). But, OMG, the sound is absolutely phenomenal !!!! I love most all music, but, am a rock and blues lover and when I am thumping some Joe Bonamassa tunes at around 45 on the volume level, I am in heaven! Oh and the speakers were $65 each on Amazon.com. Can't beat that.

 

How did you run the jumper wire? I just bout two of these speakers after my door speakers blew out.
