Default My 2013 SuperSport Speed Mods and Update

Hello all. I now am at 21,300 miles, and other than normal services, have had rear brake pads and rear tires replaced at 16k and installed the Stainless Tailpipe Tips. My only continuing complaint is that the Blind Spot Monitor “crashes” almost daily and there is still no fix. Yesterday had the front sway bar replaced with the one used in the 2014 XJR. All that was needed was the bar (PT# C2D32305) and the 2 bushings/insulators (PT# C2P13649).The results are that the Cat now corners flatter and the wishy-washy transition from straight ahead to settling into turn is all but eliminated. The feeling is more like the 2014 XJR. I am still in the evaluation period of this modification and want to see how it effects the ride if any. Also changed the growler in the front grill to the red version on the XJR. Will update soon.

Do you have the part number for the red growler? I put the red caps on my white XJL v8 S/C and I love the look. Would be great to have a matching grille.

Good info.

Did you measure the front bar diameter difference? Is there also a larger XJR rear sway bar that could also be swapped? Installing a larger front bar only will, no doubt, reduce front end roll and make the turn-in feel more responsive but, it also tends to increase under-steer. A larger rear bar would dial back or eliminate the under-steer and would be ideal.

Can you provide guidance as to how to change the growler in the grill, please? Did you have to remove the entire front bumper?

Thanks,
Eddie

@ASXR6. I didn't measure the bars but had read where the XJRs bar was stiffer than the Supercharged bar. I confirmed with my dealer's parts manager what were the sway bar part numbers that were different and he came up with the parts I used. Also, when I was at the Jaguar Alive event in November I talked to several of the drivers and they all said changing the sway bar was a great idea. as for the rear bar the part number is the same for the supercharged/SuperSport as the XJR. BTW dealer labor charge was 2 hours.

@ Lakerholic. While I had my dealer do the work I did see that all he loosened was the screws and bolts at the top of the front bumper cover under the hood/bonnet and then worked in a metal rod and pushed out the badge through a hole that is in the center of the grill behind the Growler along with using a heat gun to loosen the adhesive that holds in the Growler. Hope this helps. As it is the dealer only charges 1 hour labor for this, so on the off chance that I might do more damage than good I had them do it.
