New sunroof issue
Hi All
My Sunroof keeps randomly opening, i took it in to jag couple of weeks ago, they said it needed "recalibrating" which they did, sorted for a couple of weeks.
Now it's started again! Only this time only when it's in eco stop! (how bizarre!)
Really getting on my nerves!
Has anyone else had this issue? Or similar
What could it possibly be?
Thanks in advance

that is REALLY strange, and definitely a head scratcher. You could try a reboot of all computer modules by disconnecting the battery for awhile. We promote a 'hard reboot' over in the xk8-xkr area by touching removing the negative cable from the battery, and touching it to the positive cable which makes a tiny spark as stored energy is discharged, but it clears most module memories like the windows, seats, ECM, radio settings, etc. Its safe on those cars, but haven't had a need to test it on my x351 just yet. Just FYI.

That is a really wierd trigger. It sounds like it could be an anti-trap detection going wrong, so look at the battery first. If it is not holding a full charge then the alternator dropping out could be enough of a voltage drop to the sunroof module that it either resets or thinks the motor has stalled and opens itself.
After checking the battery try a hard reboot, then recalibrate again. To do so close the sun roof and both blinds then hold in the sunroof button in the close position for 45 seconds and it will run through the routine. I believe you keep the button held until it stops moving, so try holding it in throughout to start with. The roof blinds should both open and the sunroof with open and close, then only the rear blind will close. Afterwards you can close the front blind if you wish to then see if the issue returns.
You can just disconnect the negative terminal and leave it out of the way for 30 seconds to reset the sunroof module. (You can also pull the fuse, but it is a pita to get to.) Don't touch negative to positive in cars with a BMS at the terminals as with the X351s. Modern well designed ECUs should detect a battery disconnect scenario and discharge their caps if needed as the control circuitry will be independant of the logic circuitry.
