Hello everyone,

I’ve sold my 2000 XKR and purchased a 2015 XJ, hence my transfer from the very helpful X100 forum to this one. For the past several months I’ve been lurking in the background of this forum, gleaning whatever valuable information I could find concerning the XJ. Already, you have helped me to discover why the driver’s door soft close feature wasn’t working (a disconnected plug in the trunk!) as well as other helpful fixes.

I also re-learned a lesson that I have learned many times before, but once again ignored – that I should have studied this forum carefully before I purchased the car. I’ve learned from you several potential problems that, had I known about them before buying the car, would have been negotiable items. How many times have I learned not to let my passion for these beautiful cars overcome rational thinking when the time comes to negotiate the purchase?

I have several questions that haven’t been answered in the search sections so I’ll ask them in separate threads, but most of the time I’ll be reading your helpful hints and applying them whenever possible. I just thought I’d introduce myself and thank you in advance for your willingness to share your collective knowledge.
