Default No volume from radio, XM or CD

Every couple of weeks I get into the car and whatever media I try to play doesn't have any sound. All the functionality is there and it even shows when I turn up the volume, yet there is no sound. The Nav, parking monitor and phone sounds are there - just no media sounds.

If I turn it off and wait about 10 minutes it will return to normal.

The dealer doesn't have a clue what to do. Any suggestions?

Same problem. Told it was conflict with Bluetooth connection on iPod. Dealer checked my iPod software and downloaded the latest jag software onto car. Seems to have fixed problem.
Next time this happens knock off Bluetooth connection and see if your radio connection comes back

I had it with my balckberry phone as well. Seems to get stuck in a search pattern where it turns radio volume off and phone doesn't work either. Blackberry never sinked very well to this car from the sart. This no radio sound happens to me once every couple of months. Take the battery out of the telephone and leave it outside of car and it should work. Then put battery back in, that is telephone battery no car battery of course.

Turning off car never worked for me. Only thing that worked was removing phone battery.

I have an 2012 XF and have a similar problem except all my audio goes including voice command prompts. I think the systems are similar. I tried turning the car off/on, turning the radio off/on, turning bluetooth off/on, switching sources, and everything this else. No luck.

The only thing is that works is keeping the car off for long time.

This is annoying!!

The same problem was reported here:
XF..Nothing from the radio, backup sensors, touchscreen feedback - JustAnswer

My guess is that it is tied to bluetooth.

Does anyone not use bluetooth and had this happen?

Default No Sound at All in XF 2012

No sound at all from any part of the system (Nav/AV/Phone). Turned off car, but no luck. Finally, turned off Bluetooth on Samsung Galaxy S3 and audio system hiccuped (rebooted?) then began working.

Is there a software patch that truly works?
