Parking Brake Fault :(
A picture from this mornings start-up. Ignore the km, hadn't reset it from having the dealership perform updates last Friday.
Mines a 2014 and it does not do it. I wonder if this can be changed using the SDD?
Seems kind of pointless to have a fancy car and it does not use the EPB?
Especially when the lower level cars do apply it automatically.

Wanted to chime in those steps above do not work on my 2007 XJ8, there is no message or indication computer registered the 5 footbrake pumps.
What did work was removing the negative terminal from battery for 60 seconds, replace, and close the trunk. Start the engine and the brake fault went away.
The original issue seems to be caused by low voltage from the battery, being in the winter and car not used regularly. But even after you charge up the battery, the fault won't go away and won't release the brake. So have to do the above.
