Please help with driver side sun visor.
Wife of course broke it. The little piece that clips into the hole to keep it from moving broke off. It is about an inch long and some sort of rubber. That is not the problem though. even if I keep it where it belongs it still plops down. I have hit my forehead on it numerous times.
Have thought of gluing 2 pieces of velcro to make it so it wont just drop down. Problem is if I separate the velcro pieces it will just hang there in the way of my vision.
How difficult is it to replace a sun visor in a 2012 Jaguar XJ supercharged.

It's not hard but have you tried to source the part yet? I have a 2014 model and Jaguar lists the drivers side for $800! Used is a possibility but I have found over time all the sun visors (Especially the drivers side because it's used constantly) will get floppy and start to droop and hang down. Mine is a bit loose but not bad. When I saw the price for a new one I sure choked!
Post back if you find one. Tons of used on EBay but will they stay in place?

Thanks much and looks very helpful! I will keep a copy in my files.
Mine does not have the snap noise but does have a bit of a gap when folded up against the roof.
Talk about an easy repair! Ready to give it a try.

Absolutely shameful, in a $100k automobile....They list for $1400.- and change, all original ones are broken, none in junkyards.....
You can (laboriously) screw the plastic tension piece back together with a row of tiny (#1) screws, which will work....l have seen staples from a staple gun, glue of many flavours,
the spring steel clips from heavy duty document paper clips...None of the above generate enough tension to hold the visor cully in place.
Or spring for a new one (pun intended)

You are right. Thanks for the other tips on repair as I just can't pay what Jaguar wants for a new visor. But I can play around trying to fix mine or If I find a cheap used one I might use that as a test part. So far mine is only slightly floppy after 10+ years.
I have fought sun visors on a number of cars all the back to my 1959 Thunderbird.

I have had to change out my visors multiple times , I have had previous posts about my experiences. Don't give up on EBAY as I have had to wait various times before
a new or nearly new, clean visor came up for sale. The last pair I bought I believe was $100. There is also a Youtube video available to help you change them out.
The first time it took my wife ( the real mechanic in the family) about a half hour , the last time , maybe 15 minutes, its an easy job,,,for my wife -lol
