Default Question about colors and trim.

I'm starting to look around at X351s and I've noticed a couple of variables. I've always preferred Ivory interiors, but I saw a car with orange leather that was really beautiful. 2 questions: What's the Jaguar official terminology for "orange", and what exterior colors could be coupled with that? The one I saw was black. Is that the only paint color that goes with orange?

Second question: Since I would be transitioning from a PROPER XJ (pre-09) I prefer wood with my leather, not carbon fiber, not even ebony Elm. I have seen a few with warm brown wood accents, but not many. Did they cease after a certain model year? Or was there a certain model (like Sovereign) that tended toward wood?

idk the actual name, but I think you could order that in most XJ's, so any color exterior. Paired with the british racing green exterior is the "Jaguar" color theme or whatever, so that always goes hard.

Orange?! ORANGE?! Jaguar designers will be spitting our their tea if they read this. It's called London Tan.

Although to be fair, it can look quite orange on screen. If you google image search "jaguar london tan" you will see how different it can look in different lights / different cameras etc.

Personally I would love to have it in my XJ instead of black, or better still Bordeaux (dark purply red)

London Tan is in my Stratus Grey XJL. It seems to be a love/hate color for sure.

Lots of pics here from when I purchased mine.

I have seen it in blacks, greys, reds, greens, blues. So far not in whites, golds, silvers.

Attached is a 2013 Jaguar XJ sales brochure (pdf) which should answer many of your questions.

Default London Tan. New to my vocabulary.

I thoroughly enjoyed browsing the catalog. I may try to print it out as a resource while I'm car shopping. Thanks to all who responded.

In case you wanted to stick to your old theme with the ivory interior, here's what it looks like. Mine is cashew/truffle inside and cashmere on the outside. I too once had an '01 XJ8 in topaz.

+I on Cashew / Truffle.

Here's mine, with Burl Walnut veneer and illuminated sill plates. Note that the dashboard color isn't right.

And with matching aftermarket Leaper logo puddle lights. The leather on the top edge of the door is the correct shade of brown (Truffle).

P.S. The reason for the color difference between my and@Freddy J 's photos is the lighting - his were taken in daylight and I just took mine at night in my garage. His looks too light and mine look too dark. My dashboard isn't greenish, it's the same shade of dark brown as his, as shown on the top of my door card.

I'll take some pictures in the morning to show the difference.

Stuart S, consider using the picture edit on your PC or iPhone. I did a color correction to get the truffle to look more correct before I uploaded it. My dash was looking black.
And I'm jealous of those illuminated step plates and puddle lights.
