No problems with mine. Sounds like a speaker problem.

Kinda sound like a telegraph once in a while?? I think they'll have a correction out to us in a month or so. It's a sporadic thing, some cars do it, others don't.
Seems to be a software thing.

Cheers,

The static comes and goes it happened at least 4 times. It stops after the car is shut off for a while. It stops when I shut off the surround sound , is it a defect?

out of curiosity try driving with your cell phone off. some phones under certain circumstances can cause staic bursts through the speakers on a nearby amp.

This has happened to me a couple of times when I started the car when I was riding with someone that had an Iphone (it never happens to me with my dumb phone) without any audio on. The static just came out of the speakers and it stopped when I turned off the car and then started it again later after a lunch stop.

Make sure that your phone is not too close to the stereo head unit (like in the cupholder).

Look just below the sponsor add at the top of the page, toward the right you will see 'Welcome aceeg'. Right below that is 'Private Messages' or there should have been 'Your Notifications' somewhere along the line. Click on that.

Cheers,

Default Just chiming in...

To answer the OPs question. I have not experienced this issue. Sounds like an antenna issue to me. Either way don't think there's going to be a fix without taking it in.

I know this is an old thread but my '12 is doing this and apparently there is a service bulletin out about it. The issue is the instrument cluster has to be replaced.

Hey Mullisrd.

There is a service bulletin on this? I have a 2012 XJ S/C with these symptoms as well. It only happens to my car when it is really hot outside and the car is very hot. I'll have to ask my dealer about the service bulletin.

Thanks
Rob
