Is this the rear trolley jack location?
See photo Bottom left of photo , to the right of the Al shield, at both ends of horizontal flat bar. To right is rear of car. Close up, looking to front of car from rear. Jack point under black metal under blue bit, to right of Al shield?
Have you looked at your owners manual?
That is NOT where Jaguar wants you to lift the car. We have had multiple threads on this because of the difficulty of installing jack stands after you jack the car up with a floor jack.
So be careful this is an AL. car and can be tweaked if lifted improperly! Jaguar does NOT recommend you lift the rear using the rear diff.

Yes, read manual. The pdf diagram I have kindly received off 2 Jaguar forums now. This diagram of this detail is not shown in the manual. It shows the standard sill locations arrowed on the trim, suitable for the scissor jack.
Expensive is what I am trying to avoid.
I double posted this as I did not get replies to a month old post I tagged on to.
Today I have used the front box recess just behind the jacking point on sill. Packed with wood to spread load. The sill I would have used but it is too close to the jack stand location, just to side (left to right). Even a 4"x4" area x 12" length wood was obstructed by the trolley jack as a substitute for a jack stand.
I put jack stands under sill further back but not loaded in case jack fell. It would knacker the sill but save me. Also left a cut fence post under front wishbone bush /subframe but not loaded. Again an insurance policy.
Front end is lifted like this with 2 x 3t trolley jacks.
ps anyone working on brakes at front you will need 9mm hex male , 55torx male 15mm hex female.
The rear is where I really need confirmconfirI have not jacked under the aluminium / silver gearbox / diff (2 wd rear).
We ask all members to give Model, Year and Location details for a good reason.
Here's the recommended X351 jacking and axle stand locations:
Very easy to cause expensive damage using the wrong locations.

Thanks Graham
Have a look at that pdf diagram.
The garage post lift is on the sills, both front and rear.
At rear the jack stand point is inboard , not on the sill. The metal here is sloped and has 3 protruding bolts. Not ideal for a jack stand.
The trolley jack point is what I really need confirming. This car is not mine but a family member , the rear suspension is mulltilink, so not rear torsion beam axle, although I wouldnt jack under that.
The same black and definitely iron (rust specs in evidence) frame that is part of the location shown as a jack point had jack stands under it. I jacked up rear using sill with wood to spread load over 4" no issues.
My hesistancy to use what looks like an official rear trolley jack location is the presence of blue plastic and rubber, like a bush. The metal appears too flimsy where the jack locates, like it will collapse when loafed. Above 6" it looks solid, part of this black painted iron frame across rear of car.
Any thoughts. I can get more photos tomorrow.
Reason for removing wheels is to clean and spray paint calipers and carriers. Rear was done last week but will return to rear to paint this black iron metal.
Any photos of rear trolley and jack stand points appreciated.
