Default Replacing Driver-side Upper Control Arm

On a 2012 XJL SuperSport, is there a simpler way to remove/replace driver's-side upper control arm without remove the cowl, wipers, and other stuff?

I saw a YouTube video with the guy knocking a hole in the cover to access the bolt closest to the cabin. I'll go to independent shop before doing that.

Ha. That's exactly what I did on mine. I just chiseled away at the stupid plastic covering the bolt.

How big of a whole is needed? Can the plastic be cut with a small Dremel? Can it be seen with the coolant reservoir re-installed? Do you regret doing it?

Labor cost is approx. $400.00 for this one side. I was able to replace the passenger side.

I used a chisel and hammer but you may be able to squeeze a Dremel in there. The coolant reservoir can stay in place, you'll have to remove the windscreen wipers and cowl to gain access. No regrets at all. Why they would purposefully cover that bolt is beyond me. Once you get access, you're on easy street. I found the passenger side a lot harder because of the fuse box being in the way and I didn't know how to remove it.
