Default Super Charger Noise

Hey guys, I am getting rattling noise on the top rear part of the supercharger, it is just to the right side off the center. On cold start I hear the timing chain tap a little until it warms up in a few seconds but the supercharger noise remains.

I am going to drop the belt tomorrow and see how it feels turning by hand but wanted to reach out since I know I am not the only one with this issue.

The vehicle has 85K miles on it.

Anyone have a Link to a shop manual or TSB?

Remove the SC belt like he suggested. Then start the car to see if the noise has changed or gone.
Also move the SC pulley back and forth with the belt removed to see if it clunks.
Pretty common and I think all of them will eventually make noise.

Thanks.. I’ll attack that issue when I get to the water pump.

Yes that is an excellent time to tackle it. You are right there anyway.
But you can be sure it probably needs fixing and the solid coupler is the way to go if you don't want to mess with it again in the future.
I would order the solid version and be ready to change it. I would also suggest an oil change for the SC since it has to come off for the coupler work anyway.

Thanks again for the input. I’ve ordered the solid coupler and some SC oil.
