Two dead fobs, what will happen with alarm?
I was wondered if somebody can help me with a quick question that I have regarded my two thousand and ten jaguar x j 351
I turned the car off the other day and everything was fine. I've gone out this morning to start the car and the remote, none of the buttons would work on it.I cannot turn the lights on, cannot open boot, cannot disable the alarm or unlock
2 weeks ago, the car had a brand new car battery. Approximately 3-4 months ago, both fobs batteries replaced with brand new batteries. So i'm a little bit stuck as to a course of action.
I'm aware that if I use the physical key, the alarm will go off in the car. I'm also aware that in the boot, you have a 10 mill nut to disable the battery.
What I'm concerned about, however, is when I get in the car with the or non-working key. What do I do next?
1. As both fobs with relatively new batteries are not communicating with car I guess it's unlikely that they will work when held against dash trying to start or disable alarm?
2. How long will alarm sound? Is it relentless or a defined amount of time? I understand from looking at workshop manual there is a back up battery
3. Can communications modules failing cause this?l noticed sat nav started playing up Saturday too and not loading .
Not really sure where to start with this...
