I am new to the forum as a member, even though I have been reading a lot about the XJ from the forum for a while
I recently took the plunge and bought my xj (autobiography) and it's the version with the 10.2 screen. However, it's not the latest system update (android auto...). When I tried to follow the steps for system update, I don't see the "software update" to click on.
Which from various search on the Internet should look like this
Does this mean I have to take it into the dealership? If so, what am I asking for?
Thanks and apologies if someone already asked the same question before.
Either create a signature that shows the MY, engine, and trim package of your car plus your country of residence .... OR ...
provide this info with each question you ask.

No worries. Welcome to the forum! Hopefully, one of your countrymen will reply to your question. Your 3G sunset is different than USA, and maybe there are other infotainment differences.
On a side note, it's sometimes amusing to see threads without this vital information. There was one a year ago that went on for pages before the realization that the OP had a diesel engine, unavailable in the US. Or others that say "drivers side xxx is malfunctioning".
Luckily you have the 10" screen, so you will likely have a 4G system, meaning that the 3G sunset shouldn't bother you. You probably need to be upgraded to a more recent version of software (I believe that H251 was the relevant update) which will give you the SOTA capability.

Thank you for the feedback! Will take it to Jaguar dealership and request the H251 update. Will post my feedback once it's done

After 4 months of back and forth with the Jaguar dealership, they finally accepted they would perform the update. In the process they somehow bricked the IMC! Then had to keep going back and forth with Jaguar approved warranty to get new IMC and also slave modules, which meant car was with them for 4 weeks! Finally it's all done and I have it back with with everything up to date including the maps.
Thanks again for sharing the Bulletin details, without it, they were not even willing to accept the software was not up to date.
