USA Maps
Had my 2016 for a few weeks now here in North Carolina. I'm impressed with the POI recognition of the gps, however the route guidance is not so good and often takes me the "long" way. Granted it's getting so built up here so fast that I've refrained from updating my maps on my '17 Jeep, but I find I'm using Google maps more vs ithe Jags native system. Has anyone updated their maps and found it's a worthy expense?
I would move on. It's an obsolete system with zero support from Jaguar at this point. Anything will be better and more up to date.
Sad but true.
I have a 2014 and I am in the same boat as you. The last update for my year car was back in 2020. That was it. The last and final update.

I mount my phone in the CD slot, that way it is easy to find and see without disrupting my view through the windshield. I also use a magnet connector for the phone rather than a clamp. Easier to connect and disconnect.

Otherwise, the newest map available for us is 2020 and costs something like $180.
It's a bit of work, but you could upgrade your stock screen to the 10" version and get Android Auto / CarPlay. I'm a long drive north, but if you ever managed to source the parts I'd be happy to help you retrofit it.

Appreciated! It's a second car for me and really just for work so I'm not ready to dump a lot of $$ into it just yet. I've only had it for a few weeks and want to make sure it's mechanically sound first anyway. But I am a Realtor and kinda need to know my way around, so I'll file this for now. Thanks!

I added a large Android screen to my 2014 XJR years ago. Nice addition and I think it's time to upgrade as things have changed. More memory and faster processors and updated Android OS. Plus what I hope is a better screen. The OEM screen was better than the Android one. Mainly finger prints on the screen and how well you can read the screen in strong sunlight.
I like the fact that my setup has 100% of the OEM functions PLUS all the Android stuff.

If we're going to an address that's been established for longer than 5 yrs ago, I use the Jag's old nav.
If going to a newer house address, we'll hook up to Apple carplay on my wife's phone app...
