Default very different topic : baby chairs !

Ok, so this is a different topic : not the "usual" moan about iffy ride, sunroof pooping noises or this or that.

But Baby Chairs !

I'm a new daddy and I bought a chair + auto chair combo, from Jane and... it sucks.

The shop said the problem is the XJ - what happens is, since the seat ( the part we put the bottom, not the back ) is tilted down, the baby chair, tilts up - if I put my baby there, he will be held... by the baby chair seatbelts and with the head swinging.

Mind you - we are talking newborns here, so the chair has to be in the opposite direction of travel.

Can you guys tell me what baby chairs you guys use and post a pic ?

Thanks !

Would a tapered seat cushion, with the thick end against the seat back, hold the infant seat level? Just a thought.

You can research car seats for children, among other things such as safety recalls by VIN, on the US Government website Home | Safercar -- National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Although it applies to US models, it is a valuable resource for research even if you're not in the USA.

I use the Recaro Proride. You will have to check locally as I see you are in Europe and the seat regulations are different in the United States as to which seats are available. IIRC US seats are not side impact tested but European seats are. My picture is forward facing, but the seats can be used rear facing. You can use a "pool noodle" cut up to level the seat. Sometimes you have to use more than one. I believe that Amazon sells a similar thing to level a seat. Good luck!

Will try tomorrow - however, I'm afraid that will affect the ISOFIX "clamping" system...

Here is a picture. They are basically made out of a relatively dense foam and you just cut them to the seat width.
