This 2012 looks blue to me but it's very dark. Is it some kind of different blue than indigo?

Azurite Blue. This colour was in lieu of Indigo Blue when the metallic paint chips were not available from Japan.

 

It might be "Ultimate Black".

 

It's on the Manufacturer's Label.

It's midnight black. I have the same 2012 xjl color. Has a blue tint in the sun. But looks black on cloudy days. I dont see many xjs in this color on dealer lots anymore. They may have discontinued it? It's a fantastic color and have never seen another one like it here in Houston I bought mine on dec 25 2011. Buts it's a 2012 model.

It's not Ultimate Black--that paint code is "PEL".

 

Yep. My XF is in the same color.

Depending on the amount of light that's on it and the angle it hits, it can look very blue. Otherwise, it's black.

 

Its definitely Midnight Black. The paint code is PEF. Just checked my midnight black xjl and the paint code is PEF.
