So my question is if anybody here went through US -> EU conversion.
I'm planning to import 2016+ (facelifted) with 5.0 supercharged as these as pretty much non existent here.
My main concern is about LED lights did, anybody went through either swapping to EU or modifying US ones to EU standards?
As I was trying to find information but no luck and only information I have is from AI which said that it's not simple plug & play and that I will need adapter to connect then and some kind of coding to make them work properly.
And are there any other modifications required to make it properly legal on EU roads?
Any help would be much appreciated and thank you all in advance.

 

not to detract you from what you want to do but have you checked out if there are any for sale in the UK / EU? the 5.0 supercharged does pop up every once in a while for sale over there.

 

I would be more than glad to buy it here but I´m looking for one for over year and few times a day I check marketplace and other car selling sites from Slovakia (I live here), Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Austria and no luck... there was one for sale here for 20 000€ but it was 2010 and I´m looking for 2016+ and that´s why I decided to maybe try my luck and bring it from overseas.

 

ahh... gotcha. Do you need a left hand drive or right hand drive car? If it does not matter, you may have options shopping for it in the UK based websites too. I have no idea if UK based cars would be EU compliant or not. Good Luck in your search.

 

I upgraded my 2014 XJR to the LED lights. Yes there are RHD and LHD versions. There is also a bunch of details that you need to know. Read this long and detailed thread as it's what I used when I did my head light swap. It was a GREAT mod for sure. Functional as all get out and gives the car a more modern looking front end as well.

Dump the AI crap and look at this thread. xdave is an expert when it comes to the XJ/XF cars! BUT there are many details. I made my own harness using xdaves links. There were modified head lights that were plug and play so no wiring harness mods. I have not seen those in several years. They may still be out there somewhere?
