I just got my first Jaguar and noticed the following behavior when closing the windows. The passenger window closes automatically, the driver side window and rear passenger windows require to hold the close button until closed. This seems to be incorrect, perhaps there is away to configure it but I could not find anything about it.

Does anyone have a clue? I have a 2014 XJ-R.

You need to reset the windows. The procedure for performing a reset can be found in the manual.

 

I figured out how to solve it by luck, this was probably caused by having the battery flat at the dealer.

The solution is to (1) close the window, (2) raise and hold the window open button for about a minute, (3) release the button. The window is now operating nominally, including autonomous closure after the user briefly raises the button.
