Default XJ12 radiator?

Recently I had a radiator inlet hose come lose. I had initially thought that it was due to a lose hose clamp and a shortened hose (PO's mechanic cut it short for some reason). So, a new hose arrives and I go to install it and the old hose pulls off way to easily. Apparently the radiator's inlet neck is damaged, missing the barbed/bulged part. Anyone know where I can find a radiator for a 1995 XJ12?

G'day Silver,

I had exactly the same problem with my car a few years ago and sourced a repro all aluminium replica radiator from Terry's Jags if memory serves me.

I had tried to manufacture a replacement radiator spigot ring and glue it on with JB weld but it didn't last.

Here is the Jag part number,

MNA4190FA

so if you Google search it you should find several suppliers. They are rediculously expensive.

Cheers,
Jeff.

P.S. Here is another source https://www.scparts.co.uk/en/radiator/284519/

I haven't found any in the US available. Plenty of xjs ones available but no xj12. I did find that one in the UK and have emailed them if they will ship here. I may talk to a machine shop about making a sleeve with the barb in one piece. Then jb weld that into the inlet.

G'day Silver,

Your idea sounds good and definitely worth a try.

If you use the factory “Norma” hose clamps and buy the right hose they will not pull off even without a bump. My car had oversized aftermarket hoses clamped down to within an inch of their lives and they could easily slide off. Now they don’t. My car also did not have bump to retain the hose, maybe they never did. I think the hoses I removed were really for an XJS, and the right part fits much better.

For Norma clamps Use these guys and search for Norma and find your size:

https://www.hoseclampkings.com

for the hoses order CCC1290 and CCC2800 from the dealer or SNG Barratt

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-278596/page2/ <- see here for radiator details

I regularly search the local wrecking yard websites for any 6.0 carrs. Not sure about 6.0 xjs's but both the boxy body xj12 and the last year xj12 cars share the same radiator.

Well worth doing this in your areas since parts are hard to find and expensive. There will be nothing for ages and then suddenly...so you have to be ready.

Agree on the clamps but would also be good to talk to a good local radiator repair shop for future if/then events...

Hey Oliver, sorry I Just saw this. If you still need a radiator , I May have one. I stripped a 94 xj12 and kept most everything but the body... send me pics of what you need if you're still needing.

I found a good radiator (out of a 94 xj12!) in a wrecking yard as a spare, so I'm in good shape, but others may well be interested!

The later models of the XJ12 need the hole in the radiator for the 3 wire temperature " switch " to run the electric radiator fans:

This hole would be on the rear lower aft as you already have a small , coolant fluid fitting there for the cabin heater matrix / core return

There is the question as I do not have the V - 12 , fan clutch for the early 5.3 vs, 6.0 V - 12 ? and if that makes any difference in radiator as the radiator itself cooling capacity ?

It may fit but the fins depth / thickness
