Hi,
In my new to me VDP, I feel a bump just as engine starts, and also feel a bump when get into the gas to pass on the highway. I'm thinking engine or transmission mount? What's the usual suspect? My car has 93,000 miles.

Could be either but sounds like an engine mount.

If trans mount car would feel movement when going in R from Park.

 

Engine mounts are the easiest to check. With motor running place car in drive and with brake applied increase tpm. That is mount that normally fails. See if engine lifts.
The place in reverse and with brakes applied,raise rpm to check engine movement.
i doubt there is a good check for the transmission mount. Usually change to see if that helps.
Tranny might benefit from a fluid service.
