Default Transmission/Engine mount same?

Can anyone confirm that 07-09 xkr's have the same part number for the rear engine mount and the transmission mount? Part numberXR849534. Dealer wants $185 but when I was searching online I noticed it was being advertised as a rear engine mount and a transmission mount. In pictures the part looks the same. When its being advertised as a transmission mount its about $160 but the ones advertised as an engine mount are under $100. For instance welsh ent. has it for $65 but advertises it as an engine mount. Even different dealer websites have part number xr849534 advertised as both. But no one advertises them as engine/transmission mount.

Rockauto dot com shows completely different than an engine mount than the Transmission mount shown. I had my engine mount changed a few months ago and it looked nothing like this.
Plus, here's a screenshot at eBay, totally dissimilar;

Cee Jay is completely correct they are totally different.

I replaced my left engine mount last year I actually snapped it the same night after I swapped my diff ratios.

As my vehicle is a RHD changing the left was straight forward if it was the other mount the steering rack shaft has to be disconnected for clearance.

Nice...so did it firm things up for you? Maybe get rid of some clunking or vibrations?

Steve

I am exploring ways of switching to solid mounts. I have not had one in hand and can’t tell much from pictures, but what is the design like? Is it steel or alloy? Could it be welded together at the seams to prevent flex?

It'd probably be easier, cheaper and more reliable to weld two plates on the ends of some heavy wall 3" pipe, have the mounting bolts go through the plate.

Everything is doable with a metal saw, some steel and a welder.

jeremy the mounts are liquid filled with aluminium outer casing, in terms of solid mounts I would never recommend them.. think of a Harley Davidson like vibration throughout your entire cabin the rear view mirror would probably fall off from the vibration.

Surely someone like sng Barrett or green racing would have a heavy duty purpose built for tuned xkr's.

I don't think you can compare a 2-stroke motor to a smooth purring V8...

Solid mounts have been done on many modern cars with great benefit to performance, reduced 1/4-mile times, improved handling, etc. and little increase in NVH.

Sounds like the factory mounts would not likely be good for modifying. I have searched and searched and can find nothing off the shelf that would be suitable.
