Default 2004 XJ8 Climate Control is funky

My climate control system is not functioning properly:
It's always on. I can't turn it off by pressing the On/Off blower button.
The blower motor works just fine.
The right side of the dual controls seems to work properly. I'm able to raise and lower the temperature.
The left side blows cold air because it is stuck on 64 degrees. I am unable to change the temperature. In fact, when I push the button to raise the temperature, nothing happens (the numbers do not increase on the display).

Unrelated? The fuel gauge intermittently shows empty when it has more than 3/4 full tank.
Non navigation.

No help on the climate control.
But my fuel gauge acted as you describe,
Jet pump sender # C2C31126, Fuel pump sender # C2C31125,
Replaced the actual pump as well.
Bought a Delphi that came with a pre made wiring harness.
That was plug & play for my 04 Jaguar

Could be a collapsed button that is effectively staying on and locking up the keypad.

The blower runs continuously at low speed and you cannot turn it off
unless you turn all the climate controls off with the top left side button.

Known fault when fuel senders have bad contacts due to corrosion.

Wow.......that is a bizarre effect.....thanks for sharing that nugget.
I wonder how a faulty sender crosses over into the climate control system?

I hadn't come across that issue in my general readings so far on the XJ8.

He also mentioned that the fuel gauge.
Was going to empty, when he still has plenty of fuel.

Given those symptoms, I don't think that it would hurt to check the earth grounds.

Mark
I am guessing that the two faults are not connected?
I had a lazy sender briefly many years ago which sorted itself
out. That was in 2010!
Since then a very few people have reported a similar problem.

Cheers
Bob

Hi Bob,
Thanks for setting me straight on my misinterpretation.
I couldn't for the life of me get my pea sized brain to work out how those two things things possibly tied together.

We'll see.
I bought a used climate control dash unit.
I'll change it out when the weather turns warmer in New York.

I bought a used climate control unit. Swapped it out after removing center console bits.
