Default 2005 xj8vp "obdii not ready"

The battery in my 05 XJ8VP was replaced after the original battery went dead. Now, I am trying to get it inspected but the OBDII system says "not ready".

I have driven the car several times for a total of about 80 miles (both and interstate). How much further do I have to drive the car for the reset?

Thanks!

Richard

Disconnecting the battery cleared things such as fuel trims (which hopefully are OK) and the OBD monitors.

With an OBD tool you probably have P1000.

The tool should also show you which monitor(s) are not happy.

You can read up on the drive cycle on this site e.g. in the codes PDF / workshop manual.

It would be wise to check the fuel trims too not least because they may be part of the problem.
