The climate control module might have the answer (DTCs) logged in it so that might save some diagnosis.
Read the codes as a starting point. You might need the repair shop or someone with dealer level diagnostics to read them.
Servo motors drive flaps so it could be that or a faulty temp sensor??

Fortunately i should be able to borrow a friends Carsoft reader. Would the a/c system produce a EML light if there was a DTC logged ? Many thanks for your input :-)
