Default Another ACM module Question

Hi all Just dropped my 03/04 X350 XJ8 dropped of last week to install the ACM module at a professional installer

I have been getting the bits and pieces together for a couple months now as my car had a premium system but with a cassette player in the dash and 6 stacker in the boot

As I was planning to remove the stacker I decided to buy a head unit out of a later model XJ with a single CD player instead of the cassette

The install went like clockwork and the head unit functions control the Ipod but no sound from the speakers switching between radio Ipod or CD

The sound system worked before install of other components the original stacker had died and cassettes I don't even own any but the radio worked fine does everything just no sound

I have searched the forums and internet no definitive answer

I told the installer to disconnect the battery

He hasn't got back to me yet

I was wondering do I need to go to the dealer and have the system activated on via the IDS software maybe

Any ideas I cant be the only person to have such a problem I would have thought

Thanks in advance anyway for any hints

Doc,

You don’t need IDS to install the ACM
The ACM emulates the stacker, not sure if you can enable the stacker in IDS and only have the acm though

I can check the IDS on tue for you if needed

Cheers

Thanks for looking into weather the IDS needs to be activated

I thought the ACM emulated the stacker as well that's why I cant figure out why it works just no sound maybe the new old head unit has something to do with it

There is a bit of 'programming' to tell the computer which head unit is installed. I bet you could get it to work. There is a 'secret' code you can enter on the head unit itself to access that menu too. Its on the forum somewhere, I just can recall right now.
