Default Antenna damage.

I mistakenly started this thread on wrong forum. Briefly, Broken mast and damaged antenna cable in trunk. I've removed backseats and have achieved enough cable length to attempt repair. Hopefully I can complete that and move on to broken mast issue. Then I'll return ... Again, sorry for screw up.

"Cut and replace" done. Any tips/hints re: taillight removal and access to mast/motor?

I've exposed tail light compartment and motor/relay in trunk. Looks like local mechanic did rather shoddy job of replacing antenna. Now I'm uncertain how to precede.

1. How to release antenna from chrome fitting on top of fender?
2. Do I need to remove motor and if so how?

When I turn radio on motor hums then several harsh clicks. Same sounds when I turn radio off. I assume motor is ok? Appreciate any help.

Unfortunately, the video noted relates to a series 300 I believe. My XJ6 III Has a motor remotely mounted. Do I need to remove motor and if so, how? I'll have many questions as I progress, but I'm trying to go one step at a time

I also am having trouble pulling broken antenna out of enclosing tube...It feels like I'm hitting a audible "stop" when I give it a jerk. What's that?

Hey, Doc,
I am not sure if this will help or not. I never worked on car similar to yours. With this said, I did searche for some information:
https://www.retromanufacturing.com/p...NVqt7619vQJUh0
As it said it is not an OEM solution, but rather 'aftermarket'
You're still posting in wrong place, doc!
You should post your question here:
