Default Battery Vent Tube Location

Hello all!

Well, I was changing the battery in my XJ and forgot to disconnect the battery vent tube.....UGH. I ripped it out along with 5in of a brown hose the black one was connected to. I have no idea where this went into in the trunk. Anybody know where this house routes?

Thank you for any advice

Check the trunk panel below the battery. The hose should reconnect there as it vents to atmosphere below the vehicle

I found it for anyone else who may run into this problem-

There is a hole in the trunk near where the positive battery cable attaches to the battery. If you look under the cable, you will see a grommet with the hole for the tube. It does not require taking off the battery tray or anything like that it is easily accessible.

New battery in and the 08' XJ is running great.
