When I got my i930 from iCartsoft there was a place to erase the codes for the wheel sensors codes, but there were six of them. Appears that all codes stay, until erased.Never knew they were there, my Launch reader only saw the check engine light codes, none of the many other old codes from all over the cars components. Have not ventured outside since clearing the codes yet. Am hopeful the warning light does not come on when the car is started, as far as the wheel sensor needing programmed, my 07 did not.

Mine is still telling me to check the air in the spare. Sh_ _ guess it will just have to wait for warm weather to see if it stops then.

FINALLY may have found the answer to programming new sensor for the spare. "New Product Introduction 2006 XJ Technical Guide " It states on page 11 "If the sensor is replaced on a 'running' wheel, the new sensor identification will be learnt when the vehicle is first driven at a speed of more than 12.5 mph (20 km/h) for 15 minutes. If a new sensor is fitted to the spare wheel, the identification for that sensor must be programmed into the TPMS module using the approved Jaguar diagnostic system or that wheel will not be monitored."
I should be able to mount the spare with the new sensor to a spinning wheel position to make the car learn the new sensor. Then swap it back. In theory.
Will try.
Might have saved us all $100.00 in labor from the dealer.

Worth a shot! Just remembered that the original factory spare, was returned to it's old from the factory spot, after the new sensor was installed on the flat tire, then six codes were cleared from wheel memory sensors circuit. So i would not get my hopes up too high. Still hope it solves your issue.

I have not swapped the spare yet. But the car is still showing flat pressure 14lbs as it should have when I put the flat in the boot. The spare sensor battery died when I put it in the RR position. So when I put it back in the boot it would not send a signal. Hence it still thinks that the wheel with the flat is still in the in the boot. I'll swap and spin/drive the new sensor in a couple days after the slop is off the roads, to minimize cleaning of the spare prior to reinstalling in the boot.

Hears the journey of the sensor in question:

1) 2006-2017 located in the boot (never used on a spinning wheel) Thats a lot to ask for from a 11 yr old TPMS sensor. Temps -20F
2) 2017 located on RR for 4 days (sensor confirmed, reassigned to RR) During this time no tire located in the boot
3) as stated 4 days later relocated back to boot.
4) one week later "check spare" message, temps -18F, also still reading original flat pressure of 14psi. (most likely not getting a updated signal from now dead sensor)
5) Read and confirmed bad sensor in spare. replaced spare sensor. Car not getting data from spare as it has not been learned.
All this switching, system only seeing 4 tires on the car, dying sensor, replacing no loaded sensor may be just too much for this system to handle/adjust at once.
We'll see this week.

Did not realize there was a battery in the sensors, wonder if they can they be replaced? Found four new stems for the sensors, for $7.55, wonder if it was worth while. Anyway have replaced the broken one, so still have three left. Do not see a place to replace, or install a battery in it at the moment. Does not mean there is not one there, if they can be replaced, probably should be done every time new tires are purchased.Wonder if ice crystals are in the sensor causing our problems????

No option to change just the battery. No icing issues. Just a really old sensor, just like the really old spare tire (2006)
