Clonking noise on front driver wheel - still chasing the problem

ok my noise was from leaking trans cooler lines,replaced for $600.no more noise.

ok,noise back...man,i don't know that was good idea to buy jag.,and some small problem with transmission,from first to second gear i feel some little jump.

didn't think a cooler line would be the cause of the noise, unless it's securing mount was really loose.

Did you have the dealer, or at least a ZF experienced tranny shop refill your transmission? I bet you're levels are off if you didn't. Its a precise method to get just the right amount.

Omitting the dipstick has just got to be a conspiracy to force ZF equipped cars back to the dealer.

H20boy thanks for replay,i just back from jaguar dealer,noise fixed-was break pads clips missing,replace front break pads with clips and noise gone.About the transmission jaguar mechanic say is fine,but the find thermostat tower + hose coolant leaking=$790 to fix.
I will wait.

This happened to me. I bumped into a wall opposite my house when it was icy. The car was repaired at a body shop and everything seemed fine. The clonking didn't start until about a year later and progressively got worse and worse. I finally took it to a local independent Jaguar garage who found that the rivet holes had elongated over time, probably caused by the initial bump. They did exactly what you described: drilled them out and fitted bolts. Clonking now gone!
