Complete List of TSB's
I have reviewed this forum and jagrepair.com and google but I can't seem to find a full list of all the TSBs that apply to the x350 Jaguars. There seems to be a lot of different numbering schemes and references to numbers that don't exist anywhere. For example JTB00072.
My interest in finding out the last revision of the TCM software for our cars as I am getting my car updated at the dealer next week. I would like be able to compare notes with the dealer WRT the latest revisions and come prepared to assert that 1.1 hours of labor should cover it as indicated in JTB00125. The last IDS version number I can find mentioned is "DVD116 Patch File 2" but this is the IDS version and I don't know if there were separate version names for "reconfiguring" the TCM module.
Thanks
Jeff

Graham,
Thanks for the TSB, that is one that I have been looking for! Do you have any insight what it's about? It says "This Version has been issued to remove the adaption drive cycle road test". Did they finally give up on the road test and let the transmission adapt as you drive? Does anyone actually know how the adaptation values work? The whole system seems to be shrouded in mystery!
The context is that I just serviced my transmission and I'm getting it cleared and TCM updated at the dealer. I'm trying to make sure I get the latest (best?) version of TCM software.
Thanks
Jeff

I put Jaguar Topix into my browser and got
https://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topix/
IDS/SDD has a clever adaptation process now so they'd use that.

The topix website says you have to be: "the duly authorised owner principal or manager of an independent automotive service or repair business working on your own behalf or as a duly incorporated partnership or corporate body, directly or indirectly qualifying for lawful access to repair and maintenance information"
I don't think some guy who owns a 15 year old XJ8 qualifies..

Hi Jeff,
The version of SDD that I use to update the firmware in the 6HP26 is v131.03, which works on Jaguars through the 2012 model year.
The calibration file v131.03 uses to update the 6HP26 Mechatronic is:
Z63y5657x350ww.phx
As far as I know, that was the last update issued for the 6HP26, but if anyone knows of a later one I would be happy for the information. I have later versions of SDD, but v131.03 is the only package I have that contains the TCM calibration files.
SDD recognizes when the TCM firmware is not the latest one in its own database and will offer the technician the opportunity to update the firmware when diagnosing transmission-related issues.
SDD is an old, slow program that is essentially a collection of html web pages that run in a browser, so it can take a long time to get it up and running, communicating with all of the modules, and to complete the firmware update. Newer versions of SDD are faster, but a shop time of 1.1 hours is probably very reasonable for this job, and possibly even optimistic if a post-update test drive is included in the work.
If Jaguar did away with the adaptation drive cycle, my guess is because it is a two-person job (one to drive and one to monitor the laptop), and it could easily take an hour or more to complete all of the monitors. The monitors are typically going to complete eventually on their own as the client drives his or her car, so the adaptation drive cycle may have been deemed unnecessary under most circumstances.
Cheers,
Don

Thanks Don B. Excellent info as always. I'm going to assume that the JLR Dealer has the latest software and that they can get it loaded in a reasonable time. I'm just nervous that they are going to come up with a bunch of reasons why it HAS to have other service done first or whatever. Last time they told me I needed rear brake pads right away because there was only 3mm of pad left. I turned them down because I knew the rear pads were almost new. It wasn't till I was driving home when I realized that the tech must have been measuring the PARKING brake pads which live in a separate caliper on my car. The pads have 3mm of pad material when NEW.
Anyway thanks again for all your help with this project. I will post the results.
