Cooling temperature sensor (2004 jaguar xjr)
Already answered this question in post #15 of this thread:

There may be another sensor somewhere that I am unaware of.
It unscrews. You might want to lower the coolant level before tackling this job and possible remove a couple of hoses to facilitate access.

Both very different size threads by the look of it.
Mine is grey in color.
P0128 means that the coolant is not getting warm enough quickly enough.
I do not know whether this has been mentioned but try measuring the temp either side of the thermostat with an infrared "gun".
My thought is that the thermostat is stuck open?
Before going thru the trouble of renewing the coolant temp sensor I would check the temp as I suggest above.
That does not explain why the fan runs tho.
Also do you have hot air coming out of the heater at all?
Having two threads going does not help people who are trying to help you.
All the info in your earlier thread is somewhat pertinent to this thread.

po128 is usually the thermostat;

You may find it better and easier to replace the whole "tree" which contains
the thermostat and the 'stat is already installed in the tree (also the temp sensor.)

+1 on replacing the unit as a whole. Did mine recently (2007 XJ8) and it was definitely long overdue. If your car fires up the fans into high speed when you shut the car off after normal driving, it definitely suggests the possibility that your housing is failing. I've seen several people mention that the XJR's are equipped with a metal part instead of the plastic one linked above, but cannot confirm this. If yours is the plastic variant like mine was, the replacement is fairly straightforward. Just a bit time consuming. Best of luck!
The XJR has a metal thermostat housing and it is not the same as the NA
You may be able to adapt an XJR one, if thats what you are thinking
The hoses on the NA would need to be adapted to suit though.
If it was me I would not bother as the OEM housing has lasted so long a new one is going to give a similar duration of service. Consider it a consumable
