Default Driver Door Switch Illumination

I just brought my car home last month and have noticed that the illumination of the window switch's and seat memory buttons don't light up. The switches work just fine, but do not glow. All of the other doors do. I even purchased another set of switch's in case the LED's were burned out. I still have the same problem. I'm not seeing any pinched or damaged wires and overall this car is in Excellent shape. Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any idea what it could be?

Ok fellow XJ8 owners and mechanics, update! I have an '06 XJ8 base model with a few strange electrical issues. #1. Steering wheel & seat rarely raises and lowers / moves when you turn the key. #2. Driver Door switches/buttons do not illuminate. The function perfectly, but do not light up. tried replacing them, still doesn't work. #3. Audio warning (about 3-4 seconds) when you first put into R or D. #4. Daytime running lamps (small lights above the high beams) turn on (sometimes) when you open the trunk or random car doors. Placing the key into the ignition and turning to position 2 and back shuts the off. #5 orange light on near map lights (upper console). Anyone every had these or similar issues before, or have ideas as to what the problem might be?

I would suggest starting by checking all of your grounds. It sounds like you have several gremlins at once, and the random lights turning on from trunk or door action is strange. I am wondering if you have a loose or faulty ground, that is causing most of these problems.
