Hi everyone.
Looking for some guidance on DSC ABS issue with my 2003 XJ8 SE.
When I hit a dip in the road or bump it feels like the traction control kicks in and momentarily cuts engine power, sometimes just a gentle dip in the road can cause it.
Also been having occasional ABS/DSC fault coming up on the dash.
Any ideas anyone?

Could be dirt/rust on the sensors or even a loose connection.

If there is something wrong with the ABS system it will automatically cause the DSC not to function.

Would this also cause the traction control/dsc to kick in and cut power when I go over bumps or dips in the road?

 

Possible.

If a sensor is fooled into thinking that a wheel is slipping then DSC will be activated.

Brake will be applied to wheel that it thinks is slipping.

 

Are any faults logged in the ABS module??

I don't have anything to read the fault codes stored i'm afraid.
Is there a way to pull the codes without one?

 

No, but any other suggestions are GUESSING.
The module KNOWS what it thinks is wrong. The DTC will be logged as a fault.
Ask the MODULE.

Let the guessing continue.

Hi guys, bought myself a good scanner.
Left side rear wheel sensor tone ring tooth missing or damaged..
Will take a look and give both sides a good clean inspection and go from there.
Fingers crossed...

 

If it is the "toothed" variety, as opposed to the "indented" variety I have one for the cost of postage.

Just noticed you are in the U.K so postage may be too much.
