engine checking light on
I have this nice Jaguar xj8 with only 9600 miles on it. It has been running great. I have taken care of it regularly. But two days ago as I drove back from a long trip, its engine checking light turned on. The engine was running fine since and, beside the light, nothing was unusual. So I though it might need to have the oil changed. However, after the oil change, the light is still on. Can any one tell me if there is a reset button to turn off the light? Or something more has to be done as a routine maintenance?
If the MIL is on, you need to have someone plug into the OBD port and provide you with the code(s). Once you have the code(s), post them here for some recommendations.

IMHO, someone that changes oil as a first reaction to when the check engine light comes on should probably stay away from older Jags - if you are not prepared those cats will eat you up (your wallet) for breakfast.
