Engine inclined
2005 X350 4.2 sport normally aspirated. When raised on a two post lift and viewed underneath from the rear the engine is inclined a few degrees to the right, ie right hand side (drivers side in UK) cylinder bank is slightly lower than let hand bank. Is this normal?
Thanks for reply. There were no leaks when I first looked under car but will have a good search tomorrow when I have it up for an engine oil change. I suspected a mount as the engine also has a slight vibration between about 1400 and 1850 RPM and at times there is a slight vibration / shudder when running in this RPM range. Is it easy to change the mount or are there a lot of bits in the way that have to be removed?
Never had to do it myself.
Below is for an S type but will be similar

Engine mounts can go softer also without any evidence of leaks. It seems that the fluid in them evaporates somehow due to engine heat. I just replaced the engine mounts on my Audi and the old ones (very similar to the ones used on the X350), although showing no leaks at all, were much lighter than the new ones and had also shrunk, so that the engine was sitting lower.
