Default Front end leather cover?

I was going through brochures on eBay and I came across on the 2005 xj brochure. The brochure shows a front end leather cover. I could never find one before. Anyone where to get one besides dealer? My front end is near pristine and would to keep it that way.

I would never put one of those on my car. Those things ruin paint faster than you can blink. Dirt gets in between the leather and the paint and acts like sandpaper. If you really want to protect the paint on the front of your car, what you want to look for is Clear Bra. It is a clear film that is applied on top of freshly polished paint. Ammo NYC has a great video explaining the whole process.

Check it out here:

Hope this helps.

I agree 100%, plus they look terrible, what's the point of nice paintwork if you can't see it? Clear wrap is to me the best option

Thx for the replies!, I'm actually thinking about pulling the trigger on ceramic pro 9h treatment. My dad just got it on his CL 63 and it does a great job. I let my 96 jag go to hell with its paint job so I don't want to repeat that lesson.

Yeah, Clear Bra (paint protection film) I'd the way to go...

What about forward parking assist and adaptive cruise control? Are the sensors affected by the clear bra? Surely they would be affected by a vinyl bra, and I totally agree about these doing more harm than good.

Nope. If done right, they get a computerized print so to speak of the area it goes on, meaning openings etc, are left uncovered...

I agree completely that the leather bra on the front is less than ideal (can you say almost ugly) but I have bumper cover damage and can't find a new replacement bumper cover and have almost resolved myself to the inevitability of a front end leather cover. Can anyone help with this search? I've burned up my Google fingers and nothing so far.
