Default Front lower A arms 2005 XJR

Hello everyone. I've taken my front lower control arms off to replace all the bushing.(the dreaded clunking metal to metal noises) After a lot of time researching I believed I had all the replacement bushing. I now got a call from the machine shop and some the middle size bushing do not fit. So frustrated with all the difficulties I've had restoring this beautiful car. Question! has any body used after market or have an opinion on these after market replacement arms with bushings that are possibly made in China, but reasonably priced. I'm thinking on just buying complete and be done with it. Are the bushing and aluminium inferior?

Which bush does not fit ?
For the straight arm, all bushes are available: -

FOR JAGUAR S TYPE XJ X350 X358 FRONT LOWER REAR CONTROL WISHBONE ARM BUSH KIT | eBay

For the banana arm, the large trunnion bush is available, but the smaller one may not be, although why this one bush should not be available when all the others are, is a puzzle. Maybe it's the same as a bush elsewhere, but only measuring up will give the answer.

Default A arm bushings 2005 xjr

Hey Fraser, I believe the end bushings for the front curved arms (The smaller of the two} and the Shock mounting bushing on the straight lower arm. I'm on my way over to the shop as we speak.

Shock mounting bushes are definitely available, I had mine replaced last year. Not sure about the small bush in the banana arm, though. There may be a Polybush alternative.

It's not recommended replacing the small bushes in the curved control arm, there is no Jaguar replacement bush for this reason. I just replaced my larger bushes with Lemforder from Rock autos.

We seem to have two threads running about this at the mo' so this is duplicate post (as it were)

I had the big bushes in my 'banana' arms replaced last month (by an independent); their comment on the small bush was that it's much longer lived than the big one and doesn't usually cause problems.

Thinking about it, if the small bush needs replacing it's very likely the big one will be shot as well and the cost (time) of replacing both bushes (if you can find a suitable small bush) will make the economic advantage of replacement bushes vs new arm much less attractive.

Default 2005 xjr lower control arm bushings.

Hey guys with much research i have been able to find the correct bushings for both lower control arms. I was fortunate to find a gent that was selling rebuilt genuine Jaguar curved arms, (both large and small bushings) willing to give me the part numbers. The small ones do wear out. Mine were bad. I also found the correct shock bushing as well. So they are all available.

Default 2005 xjr lower control arm bushings.

The smaller bushing on the lower front curved arm is a Mercedes Benz bushing.
Part # 2043520027

That seems to be LEMFÖRDER 34756 01

EDIT:

which is odd because that has the same dimensions (external diam 40mm, length 48mm) as a C2C32866 or 35353 01 (the damper bush !) except its internal diameter is 14.1mm instead of the 14mm I/D of a C2C32866.

Default 2005 xjr lower control arm bushings.

Yep ,your correct. Just received the bushing that the re-builder sent me for the curved arm and its the same as the shock bushing that's in the lateral arm ,just another part number. He says now that his arm's have adjustable bushings with bearings. I think he's missing a few bearings. I've had enough of bushing shopping. Just going to order a USA made replacement by MOOG. There known for quality bushings and have complete arms for $179.00 each.
