Default Fuel Pressure sensor

Re: 09 VDP
Replaced intake manifold gaskets, cleaned and tested injectors. After putting everything back together the engine is very rough and obd says misfiring and P0193 Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor A Circuit High.
I should have replaced the o'rings because they were a little bit loose. ( on order now). Not sure if this would be the cause. This wasn't an issue before the work. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Is it leaking fuel?

Check connections and visible wiring.

The solution may be a new sensor

i don't see fuel leaking. The sensor test positive for 5 volts. I tried starting again and some smoke came out from the front lower area. Not sure what that's from. Ugh!

Go back over your work and make sure the injectors are properly seated in the manifold.

As i indicated, I have now ordered new o'rings for the injectors. If the old ones aren't tight, could they cause this?

Thanks.

To reinstall the injectors, I first installed the end injector rail end first with clips. I then lowered the rail with injectors and partly tightened down the rail screws to add some back-pressure while I tapped down the injectors. Hopefully this is ok.

+1 on Meirion1 - New Sensor! This is the link he sent me which I ignored and drove everyone nuts until eventually I bought a second-hand Ford made sensor from here and my problem was solved!! https://www.ebay.com/itm/FUEL-RAIL-P...-/272239190803

What does your code reader tell you is your fuel pressure and what does it show for your fuel trims?

Thanks EsRay. Nice car BTW, although I thought everyone in Dubai drove a Lamborghini!

Not sure about the amount of pressure or trim. In my case the problem is most likely related to the work I did. It is probably something little that I am missing. My guess is it is related to the fuel injectors seating as NBCat wrote. Just waiting for new o'rings.

No, only the Arabs drive Lamborghinis and Emiratis are only 13% of the population!

Hi Peterinio,

I changed a faulty fuel injector on mine the other month and then got fuel pressure fault codes. It would also stall and cut out and had problems starting if the car was left to sit for a few hours. My fuel rail was not visibly leaking fuel and there was no smell but once I left the car for a day and tested the pressure in the fuel rail, I found that there was no pressure at all before the fuel pump kicked in. So I rechecked all the injectors on the fuel rail that I removed to do the work and I found I had fowled an o-ring when refitting. The o-ring had split. So I replaced the o-rings and refitted the fuel rail and I have not had the pressure sensor fault since then.

So as others have said, and you have most likely already identified, that it's most likely an injector not seated properly or an o-ring at fault. So hopefully it's just an o-ring. Also check the vacuum pipe, that goes to the back of the throttle body, is nice and tight on the fuel pressure sensor.

Good luck.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris. Thanks very much; that further confirms it is most likely the injector seats. I will know soon and report back.

I am stumped! All new (very expensive) injector o'rings top and bottom but problem still persists. Sensor says misfires on all cylinders.

Again, +1 on Meirion1's answer.

What did your obd say for fuel pressure and trims? Under All Sensors?

Well, here is the long list of info just scanned. Does anything stick out that would be causing misfires? Peter

What do the STFTs and LTFTs read with the engine running? If the numbers are positive, there is a lean condition causing random misfires to occur.

I just posted engine running codes. My stethoscope indicates injectors and fuel sensor is working. I sprayed some brake cleaner in a few areas and around the intake but I didn't notice any changes.
