I have a small, but concerning gasoline drip coming from the pictures below. It’s dripping out of the plate at the bottom with the two nuts, directly next to the fuel rail, but not attached. Strong gasoline fumes at idle and in my garage.
Is this an easy DIY fix? Happy to jump in, but just need help identifying where to start.
As you may know, I just replaced all of the coolant hoses on my SC engine. In my ignorance, I disconnected the fuel rail connector. It was not meant to be replaced. I cut it off at the nipple ends. I was able to fabricate one & the car has been run for an hour & so far, no leak. Instead of running it in the valley (under the supercharger), I ran it over the snout of the supercharger. This makes it easy to inspect &, God forbid, to replace.
I will finish upthe thread & post it later with the materials I used. if it is the connector, it might be helpful.
Oops. Doug, I just noticed that you have an 8. Because you don't have the SC, your config is different & so the connector in the R is likely much different.
What's leaking is your FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator). Not too uncommon.
Here is my thread with the Jaguar part number.
It's been a few years so I don't know the price or how hard it is to get it? Things might have changed? Replace FPR

Esway found it!
This is another part from Ford and when I replaced mine for some reason the Ford part was much cheaper? Sorry I don't have the Ford part number any more but $59 is a good price!

I referenced your thread from 12 years ago and looked up the same part for the Lincoln LS. Turns out there’s an FPR sitting at an Advanced Auto Parts about 15 minutes from me, but it’s $110. The price of convenience I suppose.
Just a quick word of warning; my FPR died several years ago and I bought a new replacement from a reputable UK supplier. The replacement did not work (perhaps a Chinese knock-off)? Anyhow, I bought a second-hand FoMoCo FPR from the Ebay site I posted previously, and it is still going strong!
I tell you this just in case something similar happens to you. The FPR should produce (roughly) around 400 - 430 kPa at idle, and this new replacement did not? I spent hours testing the wiring all the way back to the ECU, because I could not believe that the new regulator could be what was faulty!
