what do i need to do to get it back to reading properly? also i have a super v8 with a navigation system. there is a button on the bottom of the mirror housing, i pushed it but all that happens are some numbers pop up to choose from. there is nothing in my owner manual about this.

 

Nothing in mine either ! It should be giving you your heading, (N, S, SW, SE, etc). AFAIK the thing just needs power to it, there is no security code or anything needed

 

issues like this drive me crazy! i obsess over stupid things like this, i can't stop looking at it and i can't stop thinking about it. all i did was install a new battery and this happens. if i can't figure it out i'll go to the dealer and see what they say. maybe its in one of the settings that requires them to plug into to set.

 

Hang on I have how to do this it might take a min to find the info. I thought it was under the menu but that cal is for the NAV system to slave it.

 

Page 95 of the owners manual shows a mirror and talks to the calibration. My mirror looks nothing like that one and I suspect your doesn't either. Push and hold the button till it hits 6 which is your area and see what happens. If nothing go drive around in a circle less than 5 MPH and see if that helps. It might help if you where playing some Benny Hill music as you drove LOL

IDS did ID my mirror with compass so..... the dealer may have a flash solution. If not it's broke...... Sorry I'm have no more ideas.

Yup, That's the page see the Comp and Mirror buttons, non existant on the Super or @ least mine.

 

@ otis thanks for making me driving circles in my cul-de-sac til i got so sick and dizzy that i almost required detail service. not to mention my neighbor screamed "what the hell are you doing!?" but my neighbors are no stranger to my randomness and yes the benny hill music would of fit perfect! turns out it worked when i pushed 6. i didn't need to drive in a circle like a idiot lol. above all! thanks you for your help sir!
