Default Head light bulb issue

Well, finally after great difficulty, I was able to remove the old bulb (lower beam/driver's side). At least I removed the old bulb metal "base"; I guess I man-handled things too much as the glass bulb broke off and fell into the lens housing...I can see it there!

So I installed a new bulb and everything now works fine, but how do I extract that broken off bulb? Can the main lens be removed easily by a DIYer?

(Do you think Jaguar could have made this bulb replacement job any more inconvenient?)

The lens can only be removed if you take off the bumper. Its really not that hard to do you need 2 people to make it easier. To retrieve the broken bulb without doing that you need a pair of mechanic tweezers (long spring connected with a push rod end to exteact small peices. I would'nt worry about it as long as the lights are working. After the first time repalcing the bulb its gets easy. Just remember the spring is pushed to the right at the bottom to release the bulb

Rmorto,

Thx...I was wondering if such a flexible "extractor" might be the answer. FYI-my manhandling was not due to unhooking the spring wire bulb retainer, but rather unplugging the darn electrical connector!

This problem is aggravated for sure by the fact that there's almost no room for getting a decent DIYer grip on the connector. Those factory guys must have very tiny hands, that's all I'll say about that.
