Default Help requested locating Bluetooth Module!

Hey guys,

After alot of searching/reading,.... I've decided my 1st purchase to have a Bluetooth enabled phone in my '04 XJ8 VDP is to buy the Bluetooth module, part # 7W93-10D893-AB. ...... i will also buy the additional mic, antenna and voice module later...looks like i might need a wiring harness connecting various items too by reading some threads....im in the USA and the ebay and jag parts sites all say out of stock.....does anyone know where one is "in stock"?
found them on European sites but with the shipping added, it would be just too many bananas to spend when I can wait until one closer surfaces .....ppl have been reporting to be getting them for around $100-150 ish.....

I appreciate these forums b/c we all know what it takes for the dealerships to "assist" us! $$$$

Respectfully,
Rick

BLUETOOTH MODULE X-TYPE X350 7W93-10D893-AB C2C37259 parts from Eurojag for Jaguar® parts and spares

Did you look at the above?

Shipping should not put it above about $100- $110 I would think.

It may well have VAT included in the price. If so you should NOT have to pay that tax. It is worthwhile calling them to find out.

I had found mine on Ebay, but haven't seen the newer module recently.

I am fairly certain you will need the antenna, with out it your phone has to be right next to the module.

if you don't have a microphone, you will need to add one as the sound is not picked up by your phone.

there is also some jumpers or a bypass plug needed for the microphone to work on the VACM plug if you are not installing that now.

And just so there is no confusion, this module only does phone calls not streaming music.

I did a thread not to long ago about my install. There is lots of threads that go into detail.

olywrestle,

yeah, I've only seen one of the newer modules on ebay and it's being sold as a package deal for $475/USD... just don't have that many bananas right now so I'm going to just have to wait and see if a junk yard or another listing pops up.....I've packed a lunch......so far I'm fairly confident that I know what to buy (thanks to this forum) , and I will tackle the installation research once I get the parts purchased....if someone already knows an excellent thread covering the install just let me know who posted and I will search by their name.....

then onto the next project,...a rear view camera that automatically uses the oem nav screen ....looks like jackra and a few others have tackled that one so ill be asking them how much of a p.i.t.a. it was to install

cheers,
-rick

My thread is a recent one, started not knowing anything since I was new to the Jag, and ended up finally putting all the pieces together. You will want to read the whole thread to get all the correct information and find where I made mistakes. Good luck! Defintely love it, and am on the waiting list for the Venbox solution for streaming music.

If you need a fiber optic cable for the splicing (see my thread which links to the splicing thread) hit me up on PM and I can help you out.

Thanks olywrestle,

I saved those links for reference when the time comes to install.... just sitting back and waiting for the illusive part # 7W93-10D893-AB to surface somewhere...

....I'm going to open up the area in my trunk today and see just what i do & do not have. I suspect I will just see a multi-disc cd changer and the nav module..... and a blank area just begging for the above part #...... I'll let you know what I find.

cheers,
-rick

Rick,
Check this out. Search: Vision Tech America on the forum. Or Backup Camera install on 2007 Vanden Plas. Seems like the simplest install and fare price.

Mark,

You have my intrest. I see that the VTL375HD is available locally and for around $140 after taxes. So my only question should be about the interface....what are you suggesting for that?

I don't know, but many on the forum talk about it. Seems like a RGB converter. Just search backup/reverse camera on the forum, be ready for a ton of hits. Evan has done some of the wildest things along with Marque, Box, Jackra, and others. Also check the A/V Electronics forum pages.

I watched Ebay for awhile and saw one pop up for $36.00 delivered. Was a little leary but for $36.00 I thought I would gamble on it.

After I got the fibre optic figured out, installed the BMW antenna, oem Jaguar Mic and made up the the jumpers for VCAM plug. I now have bluetoothe for less than $150.00

I cannot say enough how helpful the forum has been on the Bluetoothe and other issues.

Good luck in your search.

Woodford Jag.
