Default Hood Insulation pad search

Looking all over for an original type hood insulator for my 05 XJR. The new superseded part, C2C32839 is much different, probably for the Facelift cars 2007-2009. The original is C2C3725 and has the forward rubber stapled seal, tabs that fit into the rear of the hood as well as both sides while the new style does not. I've called my local dealer, searched all the online sources & specialists in both the US and UK and have come up empty. I see Gonzo passed away :-( and my usual used Jaguar parts specialists don't have anything clean. Ugh. Looks like my only option is to order the new style part, cut it down and re-trim it with the proper black, Ford style fabric.

The new hood insulation is a direct fit for older model X350s but doesn't come with the front rubber seal. I replaced the hood insulation on mine a few months ago. I tried using the old rubber seal but it did not fit. I'm not sure if there is a newer rubber seal.

Yeah the old rubber seal won't fit on the new style pad and there is no new seal available. The new style insulation is also much wider and doesn't have the "tabs" that fit into the slots on the sides and rear of the hood. It also comes with a handful of square clips that cannot be clipped anywhere as the older model hoods do not have slots for them. I might try cutting down a new style insulator, have it recovered with the fuzzy black fabric and reinstall the old front seal to make it look the same.

Sounds like the new part is pretty useless.

If you know or can find a local trimmer he could make a new insulator

to your spec or copy your old one.

Alternately you could make one yourself using the aluminised insulating sheet.
.

I removed the square clips. It doesn't sag at all. The round plugs do a swell job of holding it in place.

They do, but then you've got empty square holes and unless your car is black, they look a bit odd.

Yeah, these insulators are almost impossible to duplicate unless you want to glue it to the underside of the hood. They're made in a large "waffle iron" like press that "sandwiches" the layers together and imprints the curvature & shape of the hood's underside into the insulator. Once they've been torn or start to sag due to age or being exposed to moisture or coolant from a burst hose or header tank, there's not much you can do with them. I might try to stiffen it up with some resin and fiberglass cloth and then have it capped with the fuzzy black material, but it can wait.

Found this old thread thought I'd resurrect it see if there's a new or aftermarket product out there.
I just noticed my Hood/Bonnet sound deadening is hanging by the clips I'd like to just replace it
Thought about dynamat or something similar but thought putting it on upside down with the Hood/Bonnet up is going to be difficult and paying someone to stuff it up doesn't sound appealing
Any ideas welcomed

I used Design Engineering 050129 "Under Hood Thermal Acoustic Lining". It's self-adhesive, cut to fit, and I used generic push clips at the OEM clip points. Looks good and has been holding up.

+1 on the above.

Used on my 2005 XJR that I had and also on my 1013 Range Rover Sport.

Also mice do not try and make nests out of it.

Thanks Guys just looked them up that's exactly what I need

I've looked at a few products that are similar

When I thought about it I wanted something that reflected head and absorbed sound
That's the product
