How To Disconnect Power Socket Electrical Connector in Glove Box

Am removing glove box & have found that the electrical connector is offering too much resistance; it appears that it should just unplug. Is there a trick? My car is a 2004 XJR.

It has a hard to reach tab on the side of the connector you have to push before it will release.
