how fast have you gone?
the other day I was driving down the road needing to get on the on ramp for the highway I looked back to see the rush of traffic coming up and wanted to make sure I didn't get caught up in it so I gunned it! not thinking I hit the gas that hard but realized I was no where near the traffic, I looked down to see my needle reading 142mph. i quickly slowed in fear of a huge fine. but that was the fastest I've gone in my jag. anyone else been this high or higher? and are they limited?
I think you will find most folks here are reluctant to admit on a public forum to committing what may be considered a reckless felony in some states, lol!
Be careful on and off the road, my friend.
I think most of our cars are limited to 155 mph though.

On certain part of german "autobahn" you can drive constantly 155mph (250 km/h) for about 30min. If you are a sensitive driver, you can notice the car getting harder (and lower) at about 160km/h.
What a shame that this function cannot be seen in many "free" countries.

142 merging onto the freeway is criminal. Go jump out of an airplane. That way you can only hurt yourself!

The unlimited parts of german autobahn are the statistically safest roads there are.
Unfortunately often speed limits are added due to noise reduction or "green" politicians in local governments.
Nevertheless if your're driving 250km/h, you're not alone on the left line, as most audi/bwm/mercedes can go as fast, even if they include an ugly diesel engine.
Although it works well in germany, I doubt it will work everywhere, because in some countries the cars&roads are in very bad shape and the drivers seem to concentrate on everything but driving.

I can neither confirm or deny that My XJ drove 115mph on an interstate in South Florida the first week I had her. She could have gone faster but, and I'm not confirming or denying this, my radar detector started buzzing. These cars are made for high speed cruising and I would feel very safe cruising in triple digits here in Florida if that were legal.
My Maserati does 185...
OK Seriously... when I was young and stupid in NYC I went over 120 on the Grand Central Parkway right before the Francis Lewis exit. This was in a 69 Road Runner almost exactly like the one I have now, except that one had no seat belts.
Since then I've gone a lot faster on tracks, but it somehow never seemed as fast as that crazy Mopar.

My XJ8 maxes out at 235 kilometres..No matter how hard I try. Bit sad !! But the Ninja tops out at 310.(factory says 320 but I can't get there ,but guess OP isn't including bikes). the Jag feels like it is all coming together at and after 140 KPH.
Yeah...there's top speed and then there's TOP SPEED...
150 on an interstate at 3am or Autobahn is cool, but doing 135 on the 7 mile bridge in the Florida keys is faster because of the insanity factor.
Although there's no f-ing way I would do that stuff now... although i do have the salt flats on a bucket list.

and as Les mention it was a surprise on how quick the car got up to that speed. it wasn't intentional but i did love it!
