How to Program New Key Remote
Hi Jami,
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us. For the benefit of other members, I've taken the liberty of revising the title of your thread so it describes the nature of your question.
Yes, you can program a new key yourself if it has the transponder in the key. You must program all your keys/remotes at the same time. Here are the steps:
1. Open driver's door;
2. Pull and hold the high beam selector lever toward you;
3. Insert the key in the ignition lock and turn it to Position I (Accessory);
4. Release the high beam selector lever and then pull and release it 4 more times. After the 4th time you will hear a chime;
5. Now press the lock button on each key remote, one after another, to program them in.
6. Once you've programmed the last remote, you're finished. Turn the key to the Off position and test each remote to ensure proper operation. Repeat the programming process if necessary.
If any of your remotes needs a new battery, the size is CR2032.
Cheers,
Don
