05 VDP was parked in garage for about a month. Went to start on return home. The red dash security light is flashing and starter won't engage. I'm sure there are plenty of posts on this. I have tried the key door lock procedure with no luck. Actually had to do some fiddling to get key to go in. Neither key will work to start car. Need help!

Batteries are good. No codes. All fuses good. No power to cabin fuses 24 and 25 PATS transponder and RH front turn signals. Signal light and repeater faults show on dash. Bulbs good. Wife bumped RH mirror walking by and dislodged cover. Power mirror folding feature inoperative otherwise mirrors work fine . Imobolized light keeps flashing. Checked and cleaned grounds. What is PATS?. Voltage low at cigar lighter. Have tried door lock key reset a number of times to clear lock out to no avail. Thanks

Try removing both leads from battery and touch them together for a minute or so.

Thanks guys. Yes I tried hard reset several times and I've exhausted all my options. Had it hauled to Jag dealership this afternoon. Much to my chagrin. Never paid to have a car fixed in my life, have been lucky with my previous Jags. My expertise lies with carburetors and distributors. Yes I'm a dinasour. Cant spell anymore ether. Will let known the results.

Got the Vanden Plas back from dealer today. Last week they called and said it was ready. They called back on Mon. before I could get there and it wouldn't start again. On further pursuing the problem they decided the problem was a fuse box with a nonreplacable. relay. Surprisingly got the.$588 fuse box, part # C2C11245 the next day . Labor $719. anyhow $1411 total. Everything seems OK. This is the 10th Jaguar I've owned, may be my last! Thanks to those who replied.

Thanks for your research. You are probably 100% correct. At these modern dealerships you don;t even get to see the technition. I forgot to request the old parts. Aren't they suspose to give them to you Thanks for reaffirming my suspicions. Just screwed I guess.
