Yay.

All the way from the sunny isles of the U.K.

My intake has arrived.

Like it. Quite the difference.

Really a great "bang-for-your-buck" modification aren't they

Random question, you still have the air-lines running to your shock towers?

It looks like he has them tucked into the openings. I coiled mine up and zip tied them behind the headlamps under the radiator cowl.

When I first saw it, I was like " damn, pretty expensive little tube..." But after the drive I was happy. Big sound difference.

I have yet to remove them, and I forgot to ask the guys who did the swap to remove them, they are just zip tied so they wont wiggle about.

Think I should go Dyno again, get a direct before and after for the exhaust and intake mod vs stock?

Gotta be worth a few ponies right?

When these intake tubes first became a thing, a few guys did dyno runs and picked up an average of 10rwhp. So they do actually make a difference.

Even if they brought no power, the increased blower whine makes it worth every penny.

Before I purchased, I was at the place that did my dyno, well known group of smart good techs.

They said that if they were to.make this for me, it would be more than 230.00$, if that means anything to you.

Is the end that butts up to the upper intake round or actually shaped like the oval on the upper intake?

It is round. The trickiest part to make would be the small side outlet. Other than that it is pretty straight forward. I think it is worth the money.

You might want to consider ceramic coating the tube as I did with mine

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...e3/#post720811

This helps a lot with heat soak as the new tube stores the under bonnet heat unlike the OEM plastic tube

You could also have it powdercoated but that will not give the level of heat protection but will make still make it look more stock

Cheers

Not quite, if you want to replicate you will need to source 80mm stainless tubing for the main section ( the air box tube is 80mm and 3 inch or 75mm tubing would be a restriction), incidentally I have this tubing size custom made, then using stainless bar stock machine the specific oil breather connection before welding it on, the joiners are also 80mm quad re-inforced silicone, the clamps are stainless jubilee clips, do the job and are used to keep the costs as low as possible for the purchaser obviously these could be changed if required but I see little point.

Hope that helps.

Believe me...I was going to make my own tube and quite honestly it just wasn't worth it, This intake is a piece of art and fits awesome...I have mine connected to a Mina intake kit,,,Talk about loud...And do a before and after boost check...And youll see why you get those extra ponies. Havent been able to get to dyno yet to see what my gains but I can DEFINITELY feel the difference. Upgrading the MAF and TB soon..Just waiting for that dyno run first. And at full throttle the metal tube wont transfer heat to the airstream. So I wouldn't worry about that.
